Labor Support Doula Services
I am currently accepting clients for labor support. If you are looking for an experienced doula to work with you during your labor and birth please contact me to schedule a complimentary meeting. As your birth doula I offer up to two prenatal meetings with you, labor support, and one postpartum visit. I may be reached at 917-282-1699.
New Parent Consultations and Breastfeeding Support
Private Parent Consulting: I offer one on one counseling with compassion to parents on how to prepare for the transition into parenthood. This service is available for both those in and out of the SF Bay Area. Please email me to set up a time during my office hours if you are out of the SF Bay Area. For those of you who are local we will have an initial phone conversation so I can hear your birth and /or parenting aspirations and challenges. Once we set up a visit I come to your home to offer support, education and effective solutions. Topics that often come up:
- What do I need before the baby is born and immediatly following
- How to prepare for your upcoming labor and birth
- Nursery organization
- Fears and anxiety surrounding labor and birth preparation
- VBAC support
- Colic education and soothing techniques
- Breastfeeding education
- When to start solids and how
- Preparing and caring for multiples
- Finding a schedule and rhythm with your baby
- nurture the mother by offering practical assistance as well as emotional support thus enabling new moms to recover faster and feel more confident in meeting the challenges a new baby brings
- Birth trauma counseling
- Handouts and resources when appropriate
$75 per hour (fee includes handouts, email and phone support for one week around our visits/consultations)
Mama Tribe
A five week series for NEW MOMS with babies from newborn to pre-crawling ages to meet and explore new motherhood together. Mothers birth babies and also birth themselves as mothers. We will explore together what it means to be a mother, share wisdom and knowledge, and speak about the challenges motherhood brings to womanhood. You can expect a planned topic each week that we will discuss with time for Q & A. Come and feel refreshed, relieved and inspired to embrace yourself and your baby.

Private or Group Childbirth Education Classes: Preparing for Homebirth or Hospital Birth
Every labor is unique - but by understanding the birth process and developing coping strategies for pain in labor you can have a more comfortable and satisfying birth experience. We don't teach one specific breathing technique. Instead we help you and your partner find and use tools from your everyday life that will translate during birth.
Classes are designed to present a wide range of labor-coping and labor support techniques. Women are encouraged to follow their instincts and to trust in the body's natural ability to birth. You will graduate with a true understanding of birth and a greater trust of the birthing process.
Typically we cover the following material:
- Overview of labor and birth: dynamics of normal labor
- Pain coping strategies and comfort measures
- Positions for labor
- Massage for labor
- The role of the partner
- Interventions and complications
- Breastfeeding
- The postpartum body
- Transition to parenthood
$325.00

In Hospital Visits
Many new moms find their hospital stay postpartum to be extremely challenging. Nurses often lack the time and education to offer much needed breastfeeding guidance and support. Hospitals may be understaffed. I am available for daytime and evening visits to offer personalized care. Sometimes this will help free the partner to run home and not leave mom without support. Others will call upon me to help with breastfeeding, teach swaddling and its benefits, talk about newborn care and soothing, help prepare for the trip home etc. In-hospital visits are also beneficial for mothers who have given birth by cesarean or have had long labors.
$100.00 first hour, $55 each additional.
